My name is Michal Chipkin and I am from Johannesburg. I went to school at Yeshiva College South Africa. I attended HaRova in the MTA Class of 2018.

I chose HaRova because I really felt that I was able to identify with their values and ideals. I loved the idea of learning while living in the Old City and being completely surrounded by Israeli culture. I felt that as a religious Zionist, HaRova was the best place for me to learn, grow and realign my beliefs and values. I gained so much from the Midrasha, and I feel as if it guided me on the type of person I want to be and the type of life I want to lead.

The unbelievable teachers and staff at HaRova inspired my love for teaching and helping others. After my gap year, I came back to South Africa and studied a degree that would give me the ability to help people and make a difference.

Since leaving HaRova, I have been a madricha in Bnei Akiva, worked in Jewish day schools in Johannesburg and I will be finishing my teaching degree at the end of 2022.
